Bits and Pieces – 20170416 – Sunday

Commentary: Correction: It appears that I used inappropriate terminology when I said that Trump “took the leash off”” of the military. The correct phrase is “the military is given empowerment to do what we need to do” – much more sanitary terminology.

“PALESTINE”: ANOTHER “ARAB STATE?

We present the latest essay from Paul Merkley. Paul discusses whether a new democratic Arab state of Palestine is possible in the sense of what we consider democracy and a modern state to be. This new essay is reprinted by permission of Paul and from The Bayview Review. See the links at the end for direct access to the rest of Paul’s work that we have published.

Bits and Pieces – 20170413, Thursday

Commentary: Things are moving way to fast to wait for a Sunday release. And things are getting scary. So put this together.

More information on the deeper strategy in Syria surfaces. It turns out the CIA was plotting the destabilization of Syria decades ago according to this declassified CIA document: 1983 CIA Document Reveals Plan To Destroy Syria, Foreshadows Current Crisis.

And if a strategy works once, try it again: Putin: “Idlib Was A “False Flag” Attack And We Have Learned That More Are Coming”. Add to this another option: Syria Accuses US Of Hitting ISIS Chemical Weapons Depot Killing Hundreds; Russia Sends Drones.

WWIII: On the Korean front, will Trump trump Un: Trump Warns North Korea Is “Looking For Trouble”, Threatens To “Solve Problem Without China”? He could set the Korean peninsula on fire but that could be good for “America first” with Samsung smart phones and Hyundai cars out of the picture: North Korea Threatens U.S. With Nuclear Attack At Any Sign Of Pre-Emptive Strike. That it might not grow into a regional conflict or worse is suggested by a couple of breaking events:  Trump Unexpectedly Calls China’s President To Discuss North Korea and China Threatens To Bomb North Korea’s Nuclear Facilities If It Crosses Beijing’s “Bottom Line”.

The optimal solution might be for the US and China to act together to effect regime change and remove the nuclear threat, hopefully without incinerating Seoul which as I recall is within range of 10,000 North Korean artillery pieces dug into the mountain bunkers. Oh, and this on the Chinese: China Reportedly Tells Military To Be Ready To “Move” To North Korea Border.

Just so you can get a ring-side seat: US May Launch Preemptive Strike On North Korea Ahead Of Nuclear Test. I had to dig back for this: U.S. Air Force deploys WC-135 “nuclear sniffer” plane to Japan to monitor North Korea’s possible nuke weapons tests. But another reason for having such a plane in position that they would not want to signal is to monitor radiation spread if they destroy North Korean nuclear facilities.

Some of the above is 3 or 4 days old but this is hot off the press: Trump May Send Up To 50,000 Troops To Syria. This would be the icing on the cake – nice rich yummy chocolate icing.

And we don’t want to forget all those Afghanis we want to kill while testing the largest non-nuclear bomb (MOAB) ever dropped: US Drops Largest Non-Nuclear Bomb For The First Time On ISIS In Afghanistan. The generals have gotta’ love Trump since he has apparently taken the leash off.

And Trump now finds NATO useful: Trump Reverses On NATO: “It’s No Longer Obsolete”.

Bits and Pieces: There have been suggestions that the Swedish people will become extinct as Muslim immigration takes over the country. Such may be a Darwinian outcome: Sweden’s Largest Newspaper Demands “Ban Men In Cars To Stop Terror”.

Canada Corner: Only in New Brunswick: Why Real Estate Should NEVER be the Majority of Your Portfolio?

Bits and Pieces – 20170409, Sunday

Commentary: I go away for three days and they start the war without me. I’ve reformulated this short piece several times as I read more and more. Buried in the links below is a reference to the previous chemical attack that Obama chose not to respond to for lack of evidence of the source.

Here are a few links of many that show what arguments thinking people (the MSM exclude themselves almost by definition) are pondering: Ex-UK Ambassador To Syria Questions Chemical Attack; “It Doesn’t Make Sense, Assad Is Not Mad”. Also this: CNN Anchor Speechless After Congressman Questions Syria Chemical Attack Narrative and this: Ron Paul: “Zero Chance” Assad Behind Chemical Weapons Attack In Syria; Likely A False Flag, and this from Howard Kunstler answering the key question: “Why?”: Bombs Away! Scott Adams also had similar thoughts.

Mike Shedlock polled his readers on for possible sources of the attack: Syria Whodunit and Brainwashed Puppets: Readers Respond on Most Likely and Least Likely Perpetrators. Two thirds believe some actor other than the Syrian government is the perpetrator. A false flag attack engineered by the Saudis or another Gulf state is the most likely as was the case last time

In other words, a false flag chemical attack to draw Trump in. He’s certainly being managed well by the Deep State. And some context: Syrian Warplanes From US-Hit Air Base Said To Resume Air Strikes. But Trump does have his supporters for this: ISIS, Al-Qaeda Praise Trump’s Attack. Also, he received praise from most of his opponents including CNN. That they haven’t even put their knives away will be noticed soon enough. The cost has been loss of his support base.

For a different perspective on Trump’s action, listen to this 24 minute interview: Larry Lindsey – What The World Is Now Witnessing Is Unprecedented. When Trump states that the action is to protect the national interest, if you are trying to figure out what those interests are, it has been long established that the primary interest is in pipelines that must cross Syria: Syria – Pipeline – How The Press Will Not Tell the Truth about Syria. Also see the discussion of pipelines under the WWII section below. The idea that the US is waging war on Syria to remove a brutal dictator is a load of crap served up for the media and the public. There is no shortage of brutal dictators, past and present, that they could remove but choose not to. Nor do they hesitate to support and even create repressive regimes that serve American “national interest”.

And a couple more discussing the wider significance of the attack on Syria: Luring Trump into Mideast Wars and The Media’s Missing the Point: Syria, Empire and the Power of Signaling. The latter article by Charles Hugh-Smith suggests that a much deeper strategy of “signalling” is in play, one that seems unlikely to be Trump’s.

Bits and Pieces – 20170402, Sunday

Commentary: I think this will be a weekly blog post from here on. Sunday makes a good wrap. Either the number of articles that I wish to present to you has declined in occurrence or I have simply absorbed them as I reported them and they no longer appear important enough to bring to your attention.

As an example, the Russian hacking scandal when it broke was big news. Now that it has been thoroughly debunked, the bits of news that still trickle out demonstrate little more than the desperation of the powers that want to dump Trump. As an example, as reported today, Tuesday, the tables of linking Trump and his advisors are being turned on the Democrat camp: Here’s The Story Behind Trump’s Podesta-Russia Tweet. Interesting but not ground-breaking news.

As you may know, I am collecting crises. More properly, I am trying to identify systems that are near their critical point. In such a system, when the critical point is reached, the smallest related event may trigger a systemic realignment and release of potential energy or tension. Charles-Hugh Smith, a prolific thinker and writer talks about these systems or crises: The Overlapping Crises Are Coming, Regardless Of Who’s In Power. If you can think of any, please let me know
