Hardiness Zones

The different species of nut trees have varying hardiness zone requirements. They are listed by lowest zone recommended, in the list below:

  • Zone 5. Hazelnut (filbert)
  • Zone 6. Heartnut Walnut

Nut Species

There are many more than those listed here. These listed, tend to be of commercial-scale potential. The Society of Ontario Nut Growers (SONG) have information on every nut that can be grown in Ontario including such items as pine nuts.
