According to The Free Dictionary, a conspiracy is an “agreement to perform together an illegal, wrongful, or subversive act.” Other common sources confer on the word ‘conspiracy’ the implication of a plan or action that is wrong, illegal, harmful and/or secret. It has clear negative connotations.

The origin of the term conspiracy theory can apparently be traced back to 1870 at least but modern usage is considered to have begun with CIA Document 1035-960 – Concerning Criticism of the Warren Report.

The term has become a pejorative one intended to stignatize individuals, marginalize their opinions and place them on the defensive.

A recent article, ‘There’s a conspiracy theory that the CIA invented the term ‘conspiracy theory’ – here’s why‘, describes how the term has begun to be used to stigmatize individuals who hold opinions other than official ones. In particular are the numerous theories of wealthy elites and progressive or left-wing organizations that are working to build a global government and a New World Order in which nationalism and individualism are suppressed.

Unfortunately, we can now see events and efforts that support these theories. In other words there are true conspiracies in the literal meaning of the word that are in motion. Their intent may not be malevolent but the result will be just that if they come to pass.

This site is dedicated to documenting these conspiracy and building a picture of how the disparate pieces link together to create conspiratorial fact.

I started a blog in 2011 called The POOG, an acronym for "pissed off old guy". This is the current incarnation.
