Technology has enabled a broad ranges of means of surveillance. It is most typically used by states that wish to monitor and control their citizens. Video surveillance in particular has become prominent with real-time facial recognition. Michael Snyder gives a brief view of current video surveillance and how it is being ‘fused’ with data bases to provide near instantaneous profiles of desired individuals[1].
