Yesterday I belatedly updated the series What Your Government Did From April 07 to May 18. It’s all government housekeeping apart from 4 OICs dealing with the tariff situation.
OIC is an acronym for Order in Council. As a boring aside. To pluralize the term, one adds the “s” to the noun and not the prepositional phrase “in Council”; hence, Orders in Council. But how do we pluralize the acronym, OsIC or OICs?
A friend asked if I accepted content from others. It’s an idea that I like but then I had to think about how I personally choose content. So if you would like to submit ideas to the editorial board (me), I would welcome them. Here are criteria to follow:
- The issue should be substantial, relating to actions of Carney or his government.
- There should be links to source documents. I rarely publish just news items. Rather, I use them to provide reference material that I can use to find source material. The reference to Moe’s policy requests below is an example.
- If you send me something that I use I will acknowledge your contribution by your initials.
- I rarely read MSM or legacy media as they are called. Sometimes I do link to their articles, partly to show what the popular press thinks about something. Such links may also be used to gauge the general awareness of a topic or the importance of it to the popular idiom. Examine the large volume of material on my site to get a sense of how I work. Sometimes, just a news item is enough as in the EV topic below.
- I am willing to republish the work of others. I republish one article of Andrew Korybko’s a week at his kind offering.
EV Sales Mandate
Environment Canada proposes to control the sales of all passenger vehicles in Canada according to the following Table ( from Canada Gazette, Part I, Volume 156, Number 53: Regulations Amending the Passenger Automobile and Light Truck Greenhouse Gas Emission Regulations):
| Model Year | ZEV sales targets (%) |
|---|---|
| 2026 | 20 |
| 2027 | 23 |
| 2028 | 34 |
| 2029 | 43 |
| 2030 | 60 |
| 2031 | 74 |
| 2032 | 83 |
| 2033 | 94 |
| 2034 | 97 |
| 2035 and beyond | 100 |
My only comment is that cannabis is legally available for personal use across Canada. Otherwise, draw your own conclusions.

Martin Armstrong on Canada and Carney in Particular
In an interview by a Canadian source with Martin Armstrong, Armstrong, an internationally sought-after advisor and forecaster, speaks on a variety of Canadian topics. Watch the first 57 minutes of the following video:
The Alberta File
It is simple common sense that Saskatchewan should leave with Alberta and even consider some form of joint union. Both have a resource-based economy that Ottawa wants to control. So this Alberta File will also cover Saskatchewan.
To start this coverage, I’m providing the list of 10 policy changes that Premier Scott Moe has asked of Ottawa called the “Strong Saskatchewan, Strong Canada Plan” Delivered to Carney on May 14, here are the 10 changes copied from Moe’s X account:

For comparison, here are the demands that Danielle Smith presented to Carney on March 20 (source: TodayVille):
- Guaranteeing Alberta full access to unfettered oil and gas corridors to the north, east, and west
- Repealing Bill C-69 (aka. “no new pipelines act”)
- Lifting the tanker ban off the B.C. coast
- Eliminating the oil and gas emissions cap, which is a production cap
- Scrapping the so-called Clean Electricity Regulations
- Ending the prohibition on single use plastics
- Abandoning the net-zero car mandate
- Returning oversight of the industrial carbon tax to the provinces
- Halting the federal censorship of energy companies
