The Gnostics had an elaborate cosmology that included a narrative of the creation. With the Ineffable Presence and the Monad at the top we then consider the Pleroma.
The Pleroma
The Pleroma is fully God from whence everything emerges. This video (22:33 minutes) discusses the Pleroma.
This story ends with the entry of the Aeon Christ in the soul of Yeshua (Jesus). As a comment, I can find no evidence that Pistis Sophia is found in the Nag Hammadi codex1 but from an earlier 18th century codex from Egypt2.

Aeons and Their Role In Creation
The following video (42:36 minutes) discusses the elements of spirit and pattern, the Aeons. The error of the Aeon Sophia made in creating the Demiurge or Yaldabaoth is presented. This resulted in the creation a shadow world called the Kenoma. The Kenoma is the lowest spiritual plane, the material world.
