There may be many individuals using hypnosis or other techniques to lead people to recall what they consider to be past lives. To this end, I want to present a couple of the more widely known practitioners.
Dolores Cannon
The first that I found is Dolores Cannon, introduced in the following video (28:12 minutes).
With 19 books published, Dolores leaves a rich legacy of incidents of recalled accounts of previous incarnations. The information she brought forward spans a wide range of topics of a spiritual nature. Here is a rich field of personal research if you wish to pursue it. She made 3 important points to understand:
- Death is not an ending but a gentle transition (17:07).
- You are not your circumstances (17:35).
- You are not alone (18:03).
Application
Dolores gives 5 steps to achieve what she calls the “subconscious conversation”:
- The ‘silence before the world’ (19:09).
- The ‘question’ (19:38).
- The ‘trust’ (20:12)’.
- The ‘forgiveness protocol (20:43).
- The ‘declaration’ (20:24).
Watch the video at the time points given for a discussion of each step. Dolores’ message is the same message that Watts and Jung are telling you.
Dr. Brian Weiss
Dr. Brian Weiss is a psychiatrist who has done much work in exploring past lives of individuals as well as the spiritual realm we as souls inhabit. The next video is an interview in which he gives his background and discusses some cases (29.03 minutes).
In the following video (1:27 minutes), Dr. Weiss describes the aspect of reincarnation by which soul mates reincarnate together. This is consistent with what Edgar Cayce repeatedly discussed.
Finally, here is a short clip from an Oprah Winfrey show episode (4:39 minutes).
Application
In the following video (36:18 minutes) Dr. Weiss leads his audience (and the viewer) through his guided meditation technique for retrieving past and past life memories.
Dr. Raymond Moody
One more person who has studied reincarnation although he may be better known for his work with NDEs, is Dr. Raymond Moody. Following is a short video in which he introduces himself (2:25 minutes).
Here is a more in-depth video of his work and what he has found (22:25 minutes).
It is interesting that he refers to Platonic thinking on this matter. The idea that we have chosen this life to experience precisely what we go through reflects the Gnostic view of cosmology that we are slivers of God’s consciouusness
Carl Jung on Reincarnation Through “Spontaneous” Past Life Memory Emergence
In the following video (20:59 minutes), Jung describes not only the existence of reincarnation but more importantly why we reincarnate repeatedly. This gives us some insight into how we can complete the cycle by becoming the full expression of our soul’s nature, a process he calls individuation.
Jung’s view of purpose for souls incarnating is supported by the way children remember incidents in past lives that they are completing, a process visible in part 1 of this series. This does not discount karmic reasons but extends the variety of motivations driving choice in reincarnation.
Jung’s idea that it takes many lifetimes to completely develop a soul through individuation parallels Cayce’s description of the many lifetimes of Jesus necessary for him to completely develop the Christ Consciousness.
