Revelation Ch. 17 The Harlot of Babylon and Her Beast (Catholic Apocalypse Part 11)

Taylor identifies the sea beast in 17:3 as Rome. But it echoes the sea beast in 13:1, so the interpretation for today would be the same as I made for 13:1. The seven kings are given as Roman kings. Marshall explains how the Harlot refers to Jerusalem.

My Comments

If you read The Book of Revelation: Part 4, Chapters 12-16, you will know that I identified the sea beast as the UN due to its global reach and humanist and Godless fundamentals. Marshall talks about the centrality of ancient Jerusalem in its wealth, power, and influence. Today, there is one country that meets those criteria, the United States. And it has been the center of global wealth and power, particularly since WWII.

Thus the Great Babylon today is the US as the head of the American Empire. Read the chapter considering the nations and corporations that have become rich obeying her dictates.

There are many Americans that are faithful believers. The instruction to come out of her must be understood individually by much prayer and fasting. It may mean withdrawing from centers of corruption and sin to more remote areas and smaller towns.
